ESSO-INCOIS bid to save big on power bills
The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (ESSO-INCOIS), Hyderabad, under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), inaugurated a 396.8 kWp rooftop solar plant set up on various buildings, including the parking space, to supply solar power to the Hyderabad campus. M. Rajeevan, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences and Chairman GC, ESSO-INCOIS, inaugurated the plant which is expected to reduce carbon-dioxide by about 507 tonnes annually and save upto Rs. 14.72 lakh per year in power bills, considering that the solar tariff is 33.5% cheaper than the prevailing grid tariff.
