The Union Budget 2022-23 presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has proposed an additional allocation of Rs 19,500 crore for Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for manufacturing of high efficiency solar modules.
This is to facilitate domestic manufacturing for achieving the 280 GW installed solar capacity target by 2030.
“While, a high level emphasis on clean energy was very encouraging but no major announcement has come, except for the PLI scheme which benefits only solar manufacturers… nothing much for renewable energy developers,” said Nikunj Ghodawat, chief financial officer, CleanMax.
