Solar Power For Kempegowda International Airport

The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bangalore has gone solar in partnership with CleanMax Solar. In a press release, CleanMax Solar said it installed the solar power plant at the Kempegowda International Airport, in collaboration with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), on two acres of unused rooftop area across six buildings of the airport. The plant is now fully operational and will generate approximately 7.5 lac kWh power annually. The airport’s carbon footprint will be reduced by 700 tonnes annually. The rooftop solar power plant at the airport is one of Karnataka’s 10 largest rooftop solar projects.
