Pranjal is a CleanMax veteran, having joined the company right after graduating from IIT Madras in 2016. Over the past decade, he has worked across multiple functions, including business development, new initiatives, M&A, fundraising, project development, and HR. Today, he leads CleanMax’s Carbon Business, driving the company’s mission to contribute to a carbon-free world. His vision is to enable CleanMax to meet 1% of the world’s carbon removal needs.

Pranjal began his journey at CleanMax with the Business Development team in South India, where he played a key role in securing large PPA deals for the company’s early solar farms. He later led business development for Karnataka, CleanMax’s most significant revenue-generating region at the time, and was instrumental in monetizing the company’s first wind-solar hybrid projects. He then transitioned to the Managing Director’s office as Chief of Staff, working on strategic initiatives before launching CleanMax’s Carbon Business in 2023.

Through CleanMax’s Carbon Business, Pranjal is committed to scaling carbon removal solutions and accelerating the transition to a sustainable future.

Arijit Basu is an Independent Director on the Board of the Company. He holds a master’s degree in arts from the University of Delhi and has completed the course of Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. He has over 40 years of experience in the field of banking and financial services and was the managing director and whole-time director of State Bank of India (“SBI”). His career with the SBI group spanned 37 years from December 1983 to October 2020. He was deputed by SBI as the managing director and chief executive officer of SBI Life Insurance Company Limited from July 2014 to March 2018. After retirement from the SBI, he has been serving on the board of various companies and in advisory roles. Presently, he is a director on the board of Prudential plc, HDB Financial Services Limited and Peerless Hospitex and Hospital Research Centre Limited. He was appointed as a member of the advisory board of Razorpay Inc. and as a senior advisor to Ares SSG Capital Management (India) Private Limited and Ares Management Asia (Singapore) Pte. Limited, AZB & Partners and Deloitte Shared Services India LLP. He also serves as the chairman of the academic council of the college of supervisors of the Reserve Bank of India and is a member of the insurance advisory committee of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.

Ajay Kaul is an Independent Director on the Board of our Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and post graduate diploma in management from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He has previously served as a chief executive officer and whole-time director of Jubilant FoodWorks Limited (Formerly known as Domino’s Pizza India Limited) and as a senior advisor of F&B Asia Management Pte. Ltd. (an entity controlled by Everstone group). He has several years of experience in the food and beverage industry. He is currently associated with Restaurants Brands Asia Limited as a director.
